　　上个星期四英语课上，余老师告诉我们这个星期要举行全年级段的英语单词竞赛，希望我们每个同学认真准备，考出好成绩。

　　听到这个消息，我高兴得一蹦三尺高，因为作为英语课代表的我自信有能力考好的。后来那几天，我都没有认真复习，还悠哉乐哉。一晃一个星期就过去了，终于迎来我期盼已久的“英语单词”竞赛了，看着试题觉得很简单，我快速地写着，自我感觉非常好，满以为会是一百分的。可等试卷发下来时，我惊呆了——只有94分，而班里一百分的`竟然有15个同学。看着自己的分数，我傻眼了，怎么不是一百分呢？我真想哭。试卷上的几个“×”也好像在笑我：“平时不努力，现在还想一百分，美着呢，你！”看着，想着，泪水不知不觉地流了下来……

　　我擦干眼泪，在心里下定决心：下次英语竞赛一定要考个满分，让“×”号永远离开我的试卷。这次的失败，让我懂得了：不付出努力，是不能取得好成绩的！
