　　铃声响了，监考的`志愿者把试卷和草稿纸发给了我们。我拿到试卷后，先审题。这次考试一共要写两篇文章，第一篇是看图写对话，要求不少于八句话。我很快就写完了。

　　今年四月到六月，我参加了20xx年“希望之星”英语风采大赛。这可是全国性的比赛哦！必须要闯过海选、市赛和省赛三关，才能去北京参加中央电视台的总决赛。

　　参加市赛的早上，我和妈妈坐车到了目的地。当时，太阳特别大，天特别热，而且人山人海。我们到了之后赶紧报到，接着就排队去比赛了。因为我是最后一个，等了好久才轮到我，裁判先让我抽图，准备看图说话，再自我介绍。我觉得自己前两个环节表现得挺好的，最后是回答问题，这个环节有点难，四个题中我只答出两个。紧接着裁判宣布结果，我心想：肯定有我！肯定有我！结果，真的`有我！我拿了市赛一等奖，进入了省赛。

　　省赛的准备过程是非常艰难的，又是背台词，又是准备自我介绍，还有模拟考试。仅仅是看图说话环节，一训练就是一上午……

　　终于迎来了省赛。我怀着紧张的心情走进赛场，里面很安静，选手们都在努力地背词，我也不甘示弱。自我介绍环节，我们都做得非常好，看图说话环节就比较惨了，得知成绩后，我的心情非常低落，爸爸妈妈安慰我，要我别泄气，要我在下午最后一个环节加油，还特意给我复习了几遍演讲内容，我的心情又明朗起来。下午的比赛开始了，轮到我上场了，我站在台上，信心十足地完成了演讲，最后的分数还不错哦！

　　Firstly, perseverance let people step closely towards success. Most people want to make a big difference to prove their value. People who set their goal and keep moving would make their dream come true. However, there are some people who set their goal but they stop at the difficulty would fail in the end. I think the difference between success and failure is perseverance. If we have perseverance, even if we are not clever, we will make a great difference, but if we not, we are doomed to lose. As we all know, Edison is a great inventor in the world. However, before he invented the bulb, he kept trying for tens of thousands of times to find a suitable wire. 　　在一个不宁静的夜里，鸡飞狗跳，当时我在抬鱼缸，突然，一阵刺耳的电话声响起，一个不留神，我踩到断了脚的芭比娃娃，金鱼躺了一地。生死一瞬间，我立刻捡起地上那奄奄一息的金鱼，才发现有通电话忘了接。过了五分钟，那通宛如烦人的大苍蝇般的铃声又来了。“喂？”我不耐烦的说着，“这里是英文补习班，我们想派你参加英文朗读比赛。”就这样我莫名奇妙的要去参加比赛了。

　　拿到文章后，密密麻麻的英文让我眼花撩乱，查完所有的英语单词后，已经过了一个礼拜，时间像飞箭般，瞬间闪过。比赛迫在眉睫，我才念熟第一篇文章，却不知死活，每天依旧快乐似神仙。

　　当要抽顺序及篇目时，我才开始有点良心不安，但天助我也！抽到我最有把握的第一篇，代价是要第一个上场…….在念的时候，几十双眼睛瞪着我，我要控制好情绪，才不会伸手去挖那些鹰眼般的.眼珠。那种致命的窒息感心脏有点应付不来，只能扑通！扑通！的愈跳愈快。刚开始念得还满通顺的，可是到最后一段时，整颗心脏好像已经塞满我的喉咙，快念不下去了，好不容易比赛终于结束，我已吓到站不起来，留了十五分钟的冷汗终于停止。

　　成绩发下来了，我竟然第二名，评语写：“台风好、音量大，如果再努力，会有更不错的演出。”我乐歪了，虽然表面上装得很平常，心里却想着：“哈！唐哥是佳作，终于有一个项目比他强了！哈！”那时，我咬住舌头才能避免自己大叫。

　　其实，演说和朗读都是训练胆量的，名次只是其次，但经过这次比赛的恐怖经历，若想要多活几年，任何比赛可千万不要再临时报佛脚啰！
