　　Dear distinguished chief judge;

　　As the defense attorney of my client, I have made many surveys in secret after I took over the case. According to my client and all the information I have inspected about the case, now I have an deep and comprehensive understanding about the case . Therefore , I want to show my opinions to you, and I hope the chief would accept them .

　　. 1. The stolen car was found abandoned three hours after thetheft with the engine still warm; at the time the car was found, my client was at the airport to meet the flight of a friend who was flying into town.

　　2. Lab analysis of muddy shoe prints on the floor mat of the car indicates that the prints came from a size 27 shoe; your client wears a size 25.

　　3. Lab analysis shows the presence of cigarette smoke in the car, but your client does not smoke.

　　4. The only eyewitness to the crime, who was 20 meters from the car, said the thief "looked like" your client; yet the eyewitness admitted that at the time of the theft she was not wearing her contact lenses, which had been prescribed for improving distance vision.

　　5. The car was stolen at about I p.m.; your client testified that he was in a town 400 kilometers away at 11 a.m.

　　6. In a statement to police, the eyewitness described the thief as tall; your client is short.

　　Because of all the doubtful points , I think it is unfair to found guilty of theft to my client. Moreover, the basic standard of criminal sanction is that taking facts as a basis and laws as the criterion, so I hope the chief judge will give a reasonable judgment to my client finally.

　　Why do the young enjoy western festivals so much? Since they worship everything new, and they can’t resist the temptation. In their opinions, western festivals symbolize the fashion, while our Chinese traditional festivals are out of date. No wonder we always feel so boring during our traditional holidays. If we still turn a blind eye to our traditional festivals, our culture and civilization will disappear someday. Accordingly, it is high time for us to pay close attention to our Chinese festivals.

　　为什么年轻人这么喜爱西方节日呢？大抵是因为他们喜爱新鲜事物，抗拒不了诱惑。在他们看来，西方节日代表着时尚，而中国传统节日则太土了。这也难怪我们也觉得我们的.传统节日太过无聊了。如果我们对传统节日漠然置之，那么某天我们的文化文明终会消失。因此，我们该多多关注我们中国自己的节日了。

　　As a Chinese, we have the obligation to protect our culture and custom. So I think we should celebrate our Chinese festivals by doing some traditional activities. As for western festivals, we needn’t to be too excited about them. We can just send our best wishes to our best friends during those festivals.

　　作为一名中国人，我们有责任保护自己的文化习俗。所以我认为应当在庆祝中国传统节日时候举办一些传统活动。而对于西方节日，我们不需要太过激动。在这些节日里我们应该只需简单的送上祝福就好。

　　母亲节那天，街上好多小朋友在给她们的妈妈买礼物.有的小朋友买的鲜花，有的买的化妆品，我送妈妈什么呢?想了想，自己动手给妈妈做一份礼物吧。

　　On Mother's day, many children in the street are buying presents for their mothers. Some children buy flowers and some buy cosmetics. What can I give to their mothers? Think about it and make a gift for their mothers.

　　首先我拿了一张彩色卡纸，然后在上面画了一个在爱心桃，接着我又用红色的彩笔给爱心桃涂了色，紧接着我又用在上面上了金粉，再接着在用黄色的彩笔在上面写了祝词：“我爱你--妈妈!愿您节日快乐!”呵呵，一张卡片就完成了，感觉还不错。

　　First of all, I took a color card paper, then drew a peach in love on it, then I used a red color pen to color the peach in love, then I used a gold powder on it, and then wrote a message on it with a yellow color pen: "I love you - Mom! Wish you a happy holiday!" ha ha, a card was completed, and I felt pretty good.

　　正在这时，我听到妈妈的开门声了，我赶快把贺卡塞在了妈妈的'枕头下面，然后悄悄溜出去了。晚上妈妈睡觉的时候，发现了我放的贺卡，看着卡片好惊讶，还流下了眼泪.她把我叫进房间，摸着我的头说：“谢谢乖女儿，你又长大了一岁!”

　　Just then, I heard my mother's opening the door. I quickly put the greeting card under my mother's pillow, and then slipped out quietly. In the evening, when my mother was sleeping, she found the greeting card I put. Looking at the card, she was surprised and shed tears. She called me into the room and touched my head and said, "thank you, my dear daughter. You are one year old again!"
